Blackberry’s Future Is Really Android Says Blackberry Senior Director

Blackberry, over the past few years, has had it’s ups and downs. While the company’s BB10 OS has been helping in some specific ways, PRIV broke the doors to the Android ecosystem for Blackberry.
Earlier before now, the company had tried adopting android apps on the BB10 platform which didn’t actually make much difference as expected. The Blackberry Priv, Blackberry’s first android smartphone, gave the brand an upliftment in terms of revenue report and BlackBerry is choosing to stick with android going forward.

BlackBerry CEO, John Chen, earlier this month, mentioned that Blackberry 10.3 OS would be receiving security and privacy enhancements in 2016. No BB10 hardware will likely be introduced this year.
John Chen also said that another blackberry device running android OS will be launched this year being 2016 and if previous leak is anything to go by, we might just be looking forward to the Vienna.

“The Priv device is essentially our transition to Android ecosystem. As we secure Android, over a period of time, we would not have two platforms, and may have only Android as a platform [for smartphones]. But for now, we have BB10 and Android platforms for our smartphones…The future is really Android. We went for Android essentially for its app ecosystem. In addition, all the enterprise solutions that we have been doing have been cross-platform for a long time now. So it’s a natural progression towards Android”-Damian Tay, senior director of APAC product management, BlackBerry.

Blackberry OS 10.3.3 will be rolled over in the next couple of months and according to John Chen, the update will make the OS more secure for business and government use. The soon-to-be released 10.3.3 update will allow BB10 to be NIAP certified meaning the platform will pass the strictest government-grade security years. BB OS 10.3.4 will also be rolled over this year with even more security updates. So basically, BB10 users should be expecting more of OS updates this year.

Facebook Live Streaming Is Coming To iPhone Users Soon

Facebook live streaming just like YouTube live streaming, is self explanatory. The whole concept is about making a live video of what’s happening so that your friends can watch and likely join the interaction.
While this feature has been in the works for quite some time now (it was originally available to some selected celebrities in the US), it is now available to all iPhone users in the U.S. Android users would have to wait a little longer before the feature would be introduced on the platform.

SwiftKey Update Brings All Android 6.0 Marshmallow Emoji To The Table

Netflix App For Windows Phone Gets Update Fixing These Bugs

Netflix was recently launched in Nigeria including over 130 countries and while we have seen data plans from our telecommunication companies offering affordable packages suitable for the screening service, the mobile app just received an update.

Since sometime around late 2014, the talk on the Windows 10 operating system has been everywhere. Since then, there has been events upon events disclosing new features to be expected on the windows 10 OS. Of course, everyone would love to upgrade to their phone’s latest OS in other to work with new features that are introduced.

Just before we go into the minimum requirements in terms specifications required for mobile devices to upgrade to windows 10, It would only be nice to state that the Windows 10 operating system went live yesterday for PCs (Personal Computers). Hence, if your PC meets the requirement for windows 10, it would be in your best interest to upgrade the earliest you can.

For Windows Mobile users, the windows 10 OS won’t be available till sometime around November when the OS is expected to be rolled over.

While we are anticipating this OS release for phones running windows OS, I am sure you’d like to know the chances of your devices meeting up to the requirement and perhaps, enjoying the new OS ride.

Microsoft via Windows Central and their official website, has published the minimum requirements to which mobile devices can upgrade to windows 10. Considering this minimal requirements, it is evident Microsoft is trying to put thing in place by making almost every phone running on windows OS, get the windows 10 update. That way, more OEMs will be interested in producing more devices that will run on the latest windows OS which would in-turn, result in more publicity and more money. Hmmmmmmm Nice One!
